Detailed taxidermy restoration work at a workbench.

About Ben Blamer

Ben Blamer built The Mount Medic around the kind of work that demands patience, technical control, and an eye for detail. After graduating from Central Michigan University and realizing desk work was not the right fit, he moved into taxidermy, learned from top-level craftsmen in Michigan, and developed a specialty in restoration, finishing, and long-term mount care.

Today, his focus is helping collectors, businesses, and families preserve mounts that carry memories, value, and history. That includes routine cleaning, restoration, insect treatment, and maintenance planning for larger display spaces.

What matters here

Craftsmanship

Every mount is approached as a finished piece of art, not just an object to clean up quickly.

Conservation-minded respect

The work is rooted in respect for wildlife, taxidermy artistry, and the stories attached to every display.

Family and flexibility

Building The Mount Medic created space for Ben to stay present for his family while doing highly skilled work the right way.

Ben did a phenomenal job cleaning our 50+ mounts and restoring some as well. They look new again. The level of care and detail were impressive. Truly professional work. We’d recommend The Mount Medic to anyone looking for regular cleaning and for restoration work on their mounts.

Ben did a great job making an old throw away mount look new. I would highly recommend him.
